The event is organized by the PAC Network, part of the Subdirectorate General for Agricultural Policy Planning and the Subdirectorate General for Rural Development, both within the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food (MAPA).

Objective of the day

The overall objective of the event is to highlight the active role of women in rural areas through cooperatives. The specific objectives include:

• To understand the evolution of women's participation in agri-food cooperatives and their current representation in the sector.
• Make visible the experiences of active women members in cooperatives.
• Promote cooperatives and women's leadership in the cooperative sector.
• Disseminate business initiatives and projects to improve the position of women within cooperatives.
• Learn about existing resources to promote women's active participation in cooperatives: organizations, workshops, educational materials, etc.

Target audience

The event is aimed at those working in the agri-food cooperative sector and/or working to promote equal opportunities in rural areas. It is also open to all women involved in the agri-food sector.
