Young farmers and ranchers of the CULTIVA Program begin their training

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food has awarded 92 training placements under the CULTIVA 2021 Program to 71 young farmers and ranchers. This final decision was published on December 3rd.


  • 71 young farmers and ranchers are participating in the CULTIVA 2021 training programs until March 31, 2022.
  • In total, 80 model farms will host young agricultural professionals in 15 autonomous communities.

Along with this resolution , a grant of 715,308.92 euros has been awarded to the selected entities for the organization, coordination and logistical management of the training activities on the model farms of the CULTIVA 2021 Program. Thus, the 6 beneficiary entities are: Agrarian Association of Young Farmers ( ASAJA ), Agro-food Cooperatives of Spain , Aland Foundation, Union of Family Agrarian Schools ( UNEFA ), Union of Small Farmers and Ranchers ( UPA ) and Union of Unions of Farmers and Ranchers .

The organizations have contacted 80 model farms in 15 autonomous communities that will host the young agricultural professionals who will train at their facilities.

Starting gun

The first five training placements , managed by UPA and Cooperativas Agroalimentarias de España, have already begun on farms located in Andalusia (Huelva), Cantabria, Extremadura (Badajoz), the Community of Madrid, and the Region of Murcia.

From now until March 31, 2022, the CULTIVA 2021 Program internships will be held, aimed at facilitating the transfer of practical knowledge between experienced professionals and young farmers and ranchers who have been active in the agricultural sector for the past five years.

The CULTIVA 2021 Program is the second edition of the training placement program for young farmers on model farms, which began as a small-scale pilot project in 2020.

A new call for proposals for this initiative, promoted and financed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, is planned for 2022.
