The PAC Network has offered support as a collaborator by attending the official presentation and setting up its own stand in the exhibitor hall.

  • The 7th National Fair for the Repopulation of Rural Spain, "Presura," was held this year in Pamplona (Navarra).
  • The fair hosted numerous exhibitors from rural areas, along with round tables, an agora and an entrepreneurship competition.

Under the slogan #AmanecerRural , the national fair for the repopulation of rural Spain, "Presura" , held its 7th edition from October 20th to 22nd in Pamplona (Navarra). To this end, it featured its traditional structure of an exhibitor area from the rural world, along with round tables and an agora. These elements were joined in this edition by the resolution of the 12th edition of the "El Hueco starter" awards , an entrepreneurship competition that rewards business ideas or social ventures that contribute to the repopulation of sparsely populated areas of Spain.

The CAP Network of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has offered explicit support to the organization of this meeting as a collaborator, both by officially attending the institutional presentation of the event that took place at the Ateneo de Madrid, and by setting up its own stand in the Pamplona exhibition hall, from which detailed information was offered to visitors about the CAP Network and the new Strategic Plan for the CAP in Spain (PEPAC) .

Rural dawn

The slogan "Rural Dawn" refers to the tour that El Hueco (the organizing entity of Presura), together with the photography studio Nomad Studio , has conducted this year from town to town. This tour puts a face to the people who live in rural areas and keeps them active, paying special attention to those who are involved in some notable activity, in any field. During the tour, a camper van visits the rural town, parks in a central location, and two photographers take portraits of those who want them, free of charge. The photographs from the tour were used to create a large mural of portraits and local stories that dominated the exhibitors' hall in Navarra.

The roundtables featured speakers who shared their firsthand experience as key players in the topics discussed, such as:

  • “Rural proofing”: governance with a rural focus
  • Rural entrepreneurship
  • Rural nomads
  • Welcoming towns, or destination towns for teleworkers
  • Policies and laws
  • Innovation
  • The culture
  • The mountains
  • The urban-rural dialogue

Finally, the protagonists of the 12th edition of the “El Hueco starter” awards , and those who received awards, were:

  • Cesce Award for the best rural entrepreneur in sparsely populated areas goes to María Ruiz de Pablo of Senex Services .
  • La Caixa Foundation Award for the best social entrepreneurship in sparsely populated areas of Navarre goes to Kati Leatxe Karekin Kultura .
  • Enisa Award for the best social enterprise in sparsely populated areas, for the Re-Viviendo Project by Cecilia Falo and Pablo Furgiuele Cardenas.

The next edition of Presura will take place in Madrid in 2024, with the aim of consolidating urban-rural dialogue in major cities as well.
