The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is launching a call for applications for the CULTIVA 2023 program for young farmers and ranchers.

  • This experience consists of training stays on model agricultural farms
  • Applicants will be able to select their stay from more than 180 farms listed in a catalogue available on the Ministry's website.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food has opened the application period for the CULTIVA 2023 program , which will run until November 24. This program, aimed at young farmers and ranchers, consists of short training stays on model farms located throughout the country.

Participants in this training experience will be able to select the farm where they wish to spend their internship from the catalog published on the Ministry's website . A search engine will also be available, offering options by territory, dates, and agricultural production. The internships will begin in January 2024.

This year, the possibility of participating has been extended to agricultural professionals under 41 years of age , or those who have settled in the last five years and are 40 or younger. The possibility of choosing farms with production levels equal to or different from those of the applicants is also available, regardless of the sector or region.

The youth's accommodation, food, and transportation costs are covered by the CULTIVA program. They will also receive compensation for replacement costs to hire someone to care for and manage their farm during this period.

The stays offered are organized by the collaborating entities of the program: Agrarian Association of Young Farmers ( ASAJA ), Association of Celtic Pig Breeders ( ASOPORCEL ), Agri-Food Cooperatives of Spain , Coordinator of Farmers and Ranchers Organizations ( COAG ), San Isidro Micas , Union of Family Agricultural Schools ( UNEFA ), Union of Small Farmers and Ranchers ( UPA ), and Union of Farmers and Ranchers Unions .
