On June 6, the Seminar on Simplified Cost Options (SCO) in LEADER took place at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Rural Development and Forestry Policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment.

This workshop is part of the National Rural Network's (RRN) objectives of improving the quality of rural development program implementation by disseminating the advantages, challenges, and difficulties presented by the Simplified Cost Option, as well as its applicability to EAFRD-funded measures and its implementation in LEADER.

Gregorio Dávila Díaz, from the European Commission's DGAGRI, gave an overview of Simplified Cost Options, highlighting the advantages of using them for better fund management, as well as for simplifying administrative procedures and reducing error rates.

Javier Font Miret, from the General Intervention of the State Administration, outlined the main actions and specific risks in the control and audit of the OCS in LEADER.

Carla Álvarez Vera, representing the Canary Islands Management Authority, and Juan Antonio Maqueda Burgos, Head of Rural Development for the Autonomous Community of Madrid, explained how they are implementing the OCS for LEADER measures in their respective Autonomous Communities.
