24 de June de 2021
June 24, 2021. This year's "Pride Week" runs from Friday, June 25th to Sunday, July 4th. During this week, the equal rights of the LGBTI community (Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Bisexual, and Intersex) are demanded.
- Various rural communities across the country are organizing activities for Pride Week 2021.
Pride Week was born in commemoration of the Stonewall riots in the United States of June 28, 1969 , which sparked a social response to the mechanisms that the traditionalist system uses against those who "deviate" from heteronormativity. From a linguistic point of view, the term "pride" designates "self-esteem or the esteem that each person has of themselves as worthy of respect or consideration." This idea conveys the intrinsic dignity that every human being possesses and that should not be affected by their behavior or sexual orientation.
Ultimately, this celebration honors traditionally marginalized and repressed sexual and gender identities and orientations, highlighting their presence in society.
