The Nature Trails Network is an infrastructure project built by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food as part of the Nature Trails Programme . Since 1993, the network has totalled over 10,000 km of trails across Spain , according to Ana Vicente, Deputy Assistant Director of Irrigation and Rural Infrastructure, at the network promotion event held on 31 October at the Ministry's DG for Rural Development, Innovation and Forestry Policy.

By Ohayō Brand Curation , the company that has developed the Communication Strategy for Nature Trails , the different axes on which the Plan will focus have been presented with the multiple objective of generating greater visibility for Nature Trails , improving information about them, expanding the target audience , building loyalty among members and users, managing cross-territoriality , as well as identifying and making visible opportunities for their promotion .

For her part, Arantxa Hernández of the Spanish Railway Foundation has shown the important work they have been doing since 1994 on the Greenways brand , one of the types that are included within the Natural Paths, and which to date amount to a total of 125 Greenways , amounting to 2,708 km of path.

Ricardo Blanco also attended the meeting and presented the Proposal for Cooperation on Cycle Tourism on Natural Trails, emerging from the Subdirectorate General for Tourism Development and Sustainability of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism. This proposal would contribute to improving tourism management on Natural Trails , distinguishing destinations and companies committed to sustainability, and thus promoting rural development , connectivity, and ecological restoration .

Promoters from four Nature Trails attended the event, presenting the progress and development of their construction and discussing activities that have been carried out as a result of their implementation. Their presentations demonstrated the importance of their work to the economic, social, and environmental development of the areas through which the Nature Trails run.

Finally, three experiences from tourism agents were presented, demonstrating the necessary cooperation between the public and private sectors . They also put forward proposals on how the sector can contribute to the promotion of Nature Trails. In this regard, Guti Martín of the tourism consulting firm Sherpa Project alluded to the importance of orienting the promotion of Nature Trails toward tourism product management, beyond the construction of infrastructure.

The presentations made during the event will be published on our website shortly.
