- The meetings between Operational Groups cover various topics of interest in the field of rural and agricultural innovation, including cross-visits for the transfer of knowledge on-site.
- The objective is to facilitate the dissemination of the results obtained in the projects, as well as to provide a contact platform between innovative agents
- The series kicks off with a day dedicated to precision livestock farming at “La Vega Innova” (Madrid) on May 21st and will run until October of this year.
Science not only explains, it also inspires. And in the case of the agri-food sector, science opens up brighter horizons. Precisely to inspire, illuminate, and share, the PAC Network has designed a nationwide "Operational Group Exchange Cycle" between May and October 2025, under different working themes. The free, in-person cycle includes cross-country visits for on-site knowledge exchange and peer-to-peer learning among Operational Group (OG) members.
The topics that the cycle's meetings aim to address are:
- Precision livestock farming.
- Animal welfare and breeding (animal health, animal nutrition, genetic improvement, management and production techniques, etc.).
- Precision agriculture.
- Sustainable management of natural resources in agricultural practices (soil health, ecoregimes, irrigation, plant varieties, biofertilizers, etc.)
- Plant Health (harmful organisms, phytosanitary products, etc.)
- Valorization of by-products
- Viticulture
- Business models in food supply chains (agri-food industries: improved productivity, differentiated quality, increased added value, short marketing channels, new products, etc.).
The purpose of all meetings is to connect stakeholders in Spain's innovative ecosystem and facilitate the exchange of information, findings, and solutions that each project finds in its specific field.
Opening
The series of conferences will begin on May 21 in Madrid under the theme of precision livestock farming , at a meeting to be held at La Vega Innova. Registration is now available at the following link. until next May 14th.
In this inaugural experience exchange, we will bring together various Operational Groups and Innovative Projects, as well as other stakeholders in rural areas who may be interested in implementing the results obtained in their territories or joining a new group or project in the future, or who are interested in the topic to be addressed.
In addition to its theme, the day will serve to learn about the innovation grants from the European Innovation Partnership (AEI-AGRI), within the framework of PEPAC 2023-2027, as well as the EU-FarmBook project and the AKIS Advisors Platform .
Cross visits
The purpose of the cross-site visits between the various participating projects is to provide the opportunity for real, on-site peer-to-peer exchanges. The visits provide opportunities not only to learn about the practices and solutions implemented on farms or projects, but also to foster contact and potential future collaborations between projects and stakeholders within the innovative ecosystem.
Upcoming appointments
Following the series' premiere, which featured an exchange of experiences on precision livestock farming in Madrid, other meetings within the series will be held in various locations across Spain. These meetings will be announced shortly through the PAC Network website and its information channels .
