11/09/2019 - Two women from small towns designed a tool that makes it easier for educated people living in cities to move to "empty Spain" by providing study support services through esmiclase.es
If any student has any doubts about completing their academic tasks , it is very difficult to find additional teachers , since there is no supply due to the shortage of children and therefore demand, which limits the academic opportunities of rural students.
Two women familiar with this dynamic felt it necessary to find a solution, but the wide range of different tutorials on how to solve a math problem or a video language course weren't enough. They needed it to be exactly like a private class found in any town with more than 5,000 inhabitants, where students could interact, ask specific questions, socialize, and also be affordable.
Identifying these variables, which they knew and under the tutelage of the Territorio emprendimiento association They created esmiclase.es , an online academy where students in groups of five attend one-on-one tutoring classes daily from home using the Canvas LMS platform, where they can resolve any questions they may have. They can see each other's faces and have their own whiteboard/workbook.
Not only does it break down one of the barriers that prevents access to the same academic opportunities in rural and urban areas , it also allows adolescents from different parts of the country to attend classes daily , enabling them to enrich themselves socially and culturally from their homes.
There is also the option of generating offshore employment, which allows classes to be taught from a village . This is another pillar supporting the project, generating skilled, technological, and not just agricultural employment in rural Spain, primarily for women . This has the advantage that the work can be done from home and adapted to schedules, which greatly facilitates family-life balance. The teaching staff being recruited is primarily made up of women with university degrees and residents of towns with fewer than 1,500 inhabitants.
Starting September 24th, anyone will be able to access private lessons on any subject or course they choose, from home, regardless of where they live, simply using their computer and a tablet with a stylus.
