March 27, 2020. The National Rural Network website launches a new section, consolidating the RRN virtual platform as the meeting point for key stakeholders in rural development, bringing together and integrating all national and European information and news on the subject.

The new section houses all the topics that concern the National Rural Network.

RRN Themes

This new section contains all the information generated by the events organized by RRN around each of its themes, in an easily accessible, organized and detailed manner: http://bit.ly/3aRFDOv

Thus, this space compiles all the activities carried out since 2018—along with relevant information—regarding the pillars that underpin Rural Development.

What topics does the RRN address?

Depopulation

RRN promotes the development of smart, dynamic, and populated rural areas that are attractive for population settlement, the generation of economic activities, and quality jobs. Thus, RRN has promoted the National Depopulation Forum.

Environment and Climate Change

Through the National Rural Network, we disseminate successful projects and initiatives already underway in different regions so they can serve as examples and inspiration, and we support activities that strengthen the work of Local Action Groups. We also train rural entrepreneurs with methodologies adapted to their specific circumstances and collaborate in the development of analyses and evaluations of the specific situations in the regions.

Dynamization and Entrepreneurship (LEADER)

Through the National Rural Network, we disseminate successful projects and initiatives already underway in different regions so they can serve as examples and inspiration, and we support activities that strengthen the work of Local Action Groups. We also train rural entrepreneurs with methodologies adapted to their specific circumstances and collaborate in the development of analyses and evaluations of the specific situations in the regions.

Youth

Through the National Rural Network, we seek to provide useful information for those who settle or remain in rural areas, disseminating the various plans and strategies that can benefit this group, sharing examples that motivate and promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and job placement, and generating networks and exchanges.

Innovation

Innovation, in a broad sense, includes technological innovation and the digitalization of the agri-food and forestry sectors, but also social innovation and smart rural areas, among many other processes that seek new solutions or improve existing ones. Innovation is an essential element for the future of rural areas.

Through the National Rural Network, we work to connect the key stakeholders involved in innovation processes in rural areas. We seek to facilitate the transfer of knowledge, disseminate initiatives, projects, and studies that can foster innovation capacity across different groups, sectors, and territories, and help us reach further and faster in a sustainable manner.

Women

Women are one of the fundamental pillars of sustainable rural development, combating depopulation, and reversing the masculinization of rural areas.

That's why, at the National Rural Network, we apply a gender perspective to our actions, analyzing and disseminating projects, initiatives, studies, and tools to make life easier for rural women and their continued presence or integration in rural areas.
