To showcase the projects being carried out in the southern region of Murcia and foster contacts and synergies among all participants who attend with their rural development initiatives.
- The Campoder Local Action Group is holding the third edition of the "RED Rural: Meetings for Development" event.
- The event combines presentations, exhibitions, samples and tastings that give visibility to the initiatives offered by the rural areas of the region
This is the ambitious objective of the LEADER project “RED: Rural Encuentros por el Desarrollo” , led by the Local Action Group (GAL) Campoder for the third consecutive year and which brings together the protagonists of rural development in the areas of Murcia in which they operate, that is, in the 8 municipalities of the southern third, which cover 110,000 inhabitants in total.
The "Meetings for Development" project is organized annually with various themes, but with the same purpose of uniting all stakeholders involved in regional development. It not only invites projects sponsored by the GAL, but also any related to the construction of the rural identity of southern Murcia:
- 1st Meeting (Totana, 2018): focused on heritage and rurality.
- 2nd Meeting (Mazarrón, 2019): focused on tourism and gastronomy in rural areas.
- 3rd Meeting (Fuente Álamo, 2021) : on entrepreneurship .
- Next and last (Puerto Lumbreras, around May-June 2022) : it will deal with the role of the rural environment in the environment .
Recognitions
This year's RED event, which took place on November 26 and 27, 2021, featured around 30 speakers who participated in roundtable discussions with entrepreneurs, public and private entities, and the private association network operating in rural Murcia.
Among the speakers, the National Rural Network (RRN) was represented through its Regional Antenna in Valencia and Murcia by David Argibay, who presented the RRN Regional Antenna program and the entrepreneurship dossier for the region of Murcia.
The first day focused on education , and opened its doors to around 200 students from all primary schools in Fuente Álamo and around 150 from high school, vocational training and vocational training, who participated in round tables and presentations.
The second day focused on rural women and included the participation of various women's associations.
Likewise, a series of awards were given to "contribute to giving greater visibility to the work and performance of the tasks that each person performs in the territory, contributing to its development," according to Campoder manager Miguel Buendía Prieto, speaking to the National Rural Network.
The categories of these awards distinguished the Collaborating Media , the Campoder Partner , the Rural Woman , the Young Entrepreneur , the Campoder Project and the Extraordinary Rural Career .

The Local Action Group's goal with these events is to create opportunities for synergies, exchange experiences, and position Campoder as the leading GAL in the region to contribute to its development.
"I think we're achieving our goals," Buendía said after RED 2021. Following the success and positive feedback from participants, the organizers hope to expand the event to a regional level in the future.
The RED project is part of the third program in which Campoder participates through the LEADER program, and is co-financed by the EAFRD and the Rural Development Program (RDP) of the Region of Murcia.
