Two new programs are being launched to contribute to the digitalization of rural areas.

December 20, 2017

The National Rural Network , as a multi-sector platform that integrates all the actors involved in rural development in our country, seeks to disseminate any action that can promote the digitalization of the rural environment through European funds, for which it organized an INFORMATION DAY on December 19 in relation to the digitalization aids and digital advisors that you have available on our YouTube channel.

Both programs aim to improve the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Spain.

On the one hand, with the aim of strengthening the ICT support ecosystem for SMEs and providing support to entrepreneurs in the digital field, applications are being launched for the creation of so-called Digital Transformation Offices , aimed at professional associations and colleges . The offices will offer dissemination services, awareness-raising and promotion activities in digital transformation processes, and support services such as answering and resolving queries regarding solutions and methodologies for improving management through the use of ICT. The minimum grant amount is €100,000 per beneficiary entity and the maximum is €200,000.

Furthermore, through the Digital Advisors Program , SMEs will be able to access personalized advice on their digital transformation journey. This service will involve specialized agents implementing a Digitalization Plan to incorporate ICT into their processes ( business management , third-party relations , e-commerce , and digitalization of services and solutions ). A grant of up to €5,000 per SME will be available to implement these plans.

The public business entity Red.es , attached to the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda , is calling for these grants with co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Smart Growth Operational Programme.
