Millo e Landras, Trasdeza Natur, Abeiro da Loba and Somnia are invited to the awards gala that will be held on June 20 and 21 in Cádiz.
- The "Europe Feels" competition rewards projects co-financed with European funds.
- The competition is divided into six categories: “Europe feels competitive”, “Europe feels green”, “Europe feels connected”, “Europe feels social”, “Europe feels close” and “Europe moves you”.
In order to raise awareness of new projects that draw on Europe and to raise public awareness about the results and added value of European funding support in Spain, the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration has once again organized the " #EuropaSeSiente" Annual European Funds Communication Competition .
The 2024 edition has once again given the competition a multi-fund approach, by supporting projects that have received funding from shared European funds. Thus, in addition to ERDF projects, (including the European Territorial Cooperation objective), projects co-financed with the following funds have participated : ESF, ESF+, ISF, IGFV, AMIF, FEMPA, FTJ,EAFRD and EAGF , both within the framework of the 2014-2020 period and the 2021-2027 period.
The Ministry of Finance and Public Administration has announced the 18 finalist projects within the six categories in which the competition is structured: #EuropeFeelsCompetitive, #EuropeFeelsGreen, #EuropeFeelsConnected, #EuropeFeelsSocial, #EuropeFeelsClose, and #EuropeMovesYou.
EAFRD - FEAGA Projects
Finally, four projects were funded by the European Agricultural Funds (EAFDF) , which are used for the CAP, the EAFRD, and the EAGF. Specifically, the selected initiatives were:
- Millo e Landras – Category #EuropaFeelsGreen
This is a green point for the local and sustainable management of organic matter in Vilasantar (A Coruña, Galicia). Marta and Víctor are the founders of this farm, which began operating 15 years ago. Incorporating an innovative and environmental vision, they focused on the most ecologically friendly agriculture possible with direct local sales. With European funding, in 2021 they launched the green point for the management of organic matter; an innovative circular economy project in which the population of Vilasantar and nearby businesses actively participate.
- Trasdeza Natur – Category #EuropaFeelsGreen
Project to optimize the fruit and vegetable dehydration process using renewable technologies. The project enabled the development of an innovative and sustainable solar dehydration system to utilize surplus produce from the orchard. This environmentally friendly and completely sustainable process has a local and regional impact, utilizing surplus produce from local and regional producers and contributing to the goal of achieving zero waste.
- Abeiro da Loba – Category #NearEuropasesiente
Renovation of a house in a village of 14 inhabitants as a hostel for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. This project aims to combat the abandonment of rural areas and contribute to establishing a stable population. To this end, a ruined house located near the Camino de Santiago has been renovated. In addition to hosting pilgrims, various activities are held to take advantage of the surrounding area: yoga retreats, weddings, training sessions, etc.
- Somnia – Category #EuropeFeelsClose
Somnia is a company that offers various psychoeducational services for children and their families, with activities that address social, emotional, and educational issues. The project was created to facilitate family-life balance in various towns in Valencia, such as Culla, Castelló, and Castellón. Families in these towns had to relocate to larger towns or change their daily routines to balance work and family life.
All the selected entries are invited to the awards ceremony, which will be held on June 20th and 21st in Cádiz (Andalusia). At the ceremony, the finalists will be able to see which of the three nominees in each category will receive the final award for their region.
