The European Union is launching the "Enjoy it, it's from Europe!" brand to promote these resources through a portal featuring community campaigns and events related to the agri-food sector.

  • The website "Enjoy it, it's from Europe" shows all the agri-food promotion actions co-financed by the European Union in international markets.
  • The portal brings together news and current events, as well as resources for campaign financing and manuals with instructions for entering non-EU agri-food markets.

Enjoy it, it's from Europe! Under this banner, the European Union (EU) has launched a new portal to showcase all of its current agri-food promotion initiatives around the world. The goal is to display, in real time, the campaigns and events that the EU co-funds internationally, demonstrating the quality and safety guarantees that European foodstuffs carry.

Not surprisingly, the latest data on European agri-food exports speak volumes: in May 2024, the EU agri-food trade surplus remained stable at €5 billion. Exports amounted to €19.7 billion and imports to €14.7 billion, 3% more than in May 2023.

With all this, the portal not only offers EU agri-food campaigns and events around the world, but also provides resources for obtaining campaign funding and preparing for commercial entry into a new non-EU market.

Funding resources

The Enjoy It, It's From Europe! portal opens with news about current events and ongoing EU-funded agri-food campaigns around the world. A campaign section then offers a world map on which you can analyze how the EU presents its products in each country. Currently, this section has 546 food campaigns running.

Then, financing opportunities appear. The EU makes available to European agri-food companies to finance or co-finance information and promotion campaigns related to organic products, sustainable agriculture, safety, and the authentic and specific characteristics of a region (Designations of Origin, Protected Geographical Indications, etc.). Applications can be submitted by one or more partner organizations from the same EU country or even with another country outside the EU.

Continuing with more resources, the portal makes available to users a library with manuals for entering new agri-food markets, which aim to serve as a reference for all producers considering entering a market outside the EU. These manuals embody EU policies on the international promotion of agricultural products.

Finally, the portal explains the merits that lead European foods to fiercely defend four intrinsic characteristics in the foreign market: authenticity, safety, quality , and sustainability . All of these are thanks to the symbols of quality schemes (Protected Designation of Origin [PDO] and Protected Geographical Indication [PGI]), as well as the EU organic logo. Only products that meet specific criteria receive these distinctions.
