The project aims to compile the results of all the innovation projects and Operational Groups that were created to address a rural and agricultural challenge and that managed to develop specific solutions and measures.

  • EU-FarmBook is a Horizon Europe project working at regional, national and European levels to build an online platform for collecting and sharing knowledge on agriculture and forestry.
  • EU-FarmBook seeks to address the real needs of farmers, foresters, and advisors by providing an interactive, multilingual meeting place for the farming and forestry communities.
  • The platform was also created to provide multi-stakeholder support: to the AKIS ecosystem, to the PAC networks and to the European innovation points.

Like a virtual Library of Alexandria, specialized in innovation, at a European level: this is the aspiration behind the EU-FarmBook Platform , a Horizon Europe project that has just launched a virtual repository that compiles all types of knowledge on agriculture, livestock, and forestry. It not only brings together knowledge, but also aims for much more: for this knowledge to be shared and transmitted within the sector.

The EU-Farmbook platform aims to compile the results of all innovation projects and Task Forces that were created to address a rural and agricultural challenge and that managed to develop specific solutions and measures. This way, they won't be lost along the way and can be shared with the wider community.

Ultimately, EU-Farmbook was created with the aim of being the interactive, multilingual meeting point for farmers, ranchers, foresters, and advisors. To this end, it has developed an open-source database in the European Union (EU) and compiled practical materials such as videos, manuals, infographics, and more.

Themes

The topics that can be explored on the platform are:

  1. Forestry
  2. Agricultural crops
  3. Cattle
  4. Environment
  5. Society
  6. Economic Sciences

To contribute and join the platform, you must register and have access as a contributor here . In addition, all contributions to EU-FarmBook are shared within the AKIS (Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System) knowledge communities.

For now, and during this pre-launch phase, the benefit of being a contributor gives access to all the agricultural research and knowledge included in the publication. Later, in the near future, EU-FarmBook will also allow:

  • Contact the community directly
  • Get immediate answers to any questions through AI- driven chat support.

If you have any questions about the platform (access, registration, usage, content, security and privacy, etc.), there is a support page available here .

Pre-release

The EU-FarmBook platform launched on 8 February 2024, allowing it to begin receiving materials derived from EU-funded projects.

For this occasion, project coordinators (H2020 and Horizon Europe) and other stakeholders (national, regional, and EU policymakers) were invited to a virtual session where the platform's capabilities, functions, and benefits were explained.

The event also served to advise project coordinators on uploading information to the platform. At this point, the following were identified: direct users (farmers, ranchers, foresters, and other rural stakeholders) and intermediaries (members of national CAP networks, advisors, educators/trainers, students, and journalists).
