It was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food through the National Rural Network in collaboration with the Regional Ministry of Rural Environment of Galicia.

June 28, 2018

The objective of the conference was to promote and encourage the concept of Shared Ownership of Agricultural Holdings and to provide the administration, professional organizations, regional agricultural offices, and collaborating entities with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to inform interested parties. The conference included presentations by representatives of the Regional Ministry of Rural Environment and the General Secretariat for Equality of the Xunta de Galicia, the Delegations of the Tax Agency and the General Treasury of Social Security, also involved in processing applications, as well as first-hand testimonies from people registered under the Shared Ownership scheme.

Interesting conclusions were drawn, highlighting the need for greater involvement , dissemination, and coordination by the administrations and the various stakeholders involved; the need to continually improve and update the recently published TC Manual by the Ministry to make it a comprehensive and easy-to-reference resource; and the need to identify comparative advantages between TC and other forms of agricultural holding organization, such as Civil Societies, which are widespread in Galicia and already serve many family farms.
