- The European Union (EU) Green Week will take place between Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 11.
- This event is designed to disseminate the European Union's environmental policies on biodiversity, the circular economy, and the reduction of polluting emissions.
- Throughout the week, events organized by schools, universities, business associations, environmental organizations, civil society and government agencies from across Europe and beyond will take place.
The term "bioeconomy," widely used today, refers to the use of biological resources from the land and sea (crops, forest products, fish, animals, and microorganisms) to obtain food, materials, and energy. In short, we are talking about the set of economic activities that produce products and services, generating economic value and using biological resources efficiently and sustainably. As a niche economy, the European Union (EU) believes this sector can help boost rural communities and increase their competitiveness.
For this reason, rural areas will have a central role to play in EUGreen Week , a week dedicated to disseminating European Union environmental policies on biodiversity, the circular economy, and reducing polluting emissions. The week will take place from Saturday, June 3, to Sunday, June 11.
During the same, Numerous entities made up of schools, universities, business associations, environmental organizations, civil society, and government agencies from across Europe and beyond will organize events aimed at raising awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and promoting sustainable living practices.
