The LEADER Subgroup is a meeting point promoted by the General Directorate of Rural Development, Innovation and Agri-Food Training of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), in which all the stakeholders involved in the implementation of the LEADER intervention participate, including the managing authorities of the Autonomous Communities, the Local Action Groups (LAGs), the latter represented through their national and regional networks, and various MAPA units with responsibilities in LEADER matters.
The Subgroup's objective is to serve as a forum for the exchange of information and best practices, generate debate on the challenges and opportunities in rural areas, and generate synergies in the implementation of the LEADER measure.
The LEADER Subgroup meetings will be held semiannually, most likely in April and October, alternating between in-person meetings throughout the country and online meetings to facilitate attendance.
