Workshop on inclusive rural development, inter-regional in nature

15 de Febrero de 2018 09:30 - 17:15
Descripción

Proposal:
State Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities (CERMI). Member of the National Rural Network Assembly and member of the State Coordinator of Social Action NGOs.

Collaborator:      UNED. Associated Center of Ponferrada.

Objectives and structure:

CERMI has been working for the inclusion of people with disabilities in rural development policies for five years, and two years ago, they created a group to carry out actions that promote inclusive rural development and respond to the needs of people with disabilities. Following the Inclusive Rural Development Conference organized by the National Rural Network in 2017, it was decided to expand the program to include other groups at risk of social exclusion in rural areas (women victims of gender-based violence, migrants, the long-term unemployed over 45, recipients of basic income, ethnic minorities, young people, etc.). For this reason, this new Inclusive Rural Development Conference, organized by the National Rural Network, enjoys the collaboration of, in addition to CERMI, other organizations such as EAPN Spain (European Anti-Poverty Network), COCEDER (Confederation of Rural Development Centers), CEPAIM Foundation, the Red Cross, and Solidarity Action Collectives, among others.

The objective of the workshop is to delve deeper into the benefits and advantages of working through cooperation and innovation to achieve inclusive rural development. To this end, the workshop program has been structured into several sessions or roundtables with the following content: presentation of benchmark projects from social and cooperation entities associated with local action groups that incorporate inclusive rural development; dissemination of plans, policies, and strategies designed to achieve inclusive rural development; and identification of new opportunities for economic activity and entrepreneurship that serve to address the needs of groups of people at risk of social exclusion.

The workshop focuses on addressing this topic from a practical perspective, with the participation of stakeholders from the autonomous communities near the venue: Castile and León, Galicia, Asturias, and Cantabria.

Recipients: Agents involved in projects and actions for inclusive rural development: administrations, local action groups, social entities, and businesses.
