Workshop in Castilla la Mancha "Livestock Practices for Wolf Attack Prevention"

The Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Development of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha is launching three editions of the workshop "Livestock Practices for the Prevention of Wolf Attacks," co-financed with EAFRD funds, with the aim of making the presence of the Iberian wolf compatible with extensive livestock.

The three editions will take place from December 13th to 15th in the province of Guadalajara, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the following locations:

  • Tuesday, December 13: El Cardoso de la Sierra Social Center
  • Wednesday, December 14: "El Torreón" social center in Siguienza
  • Thursday, December 15: Cantalojas Town Hall.

Content:

  • The Iberian wolf: biology and etiology
  • Aid for prevention and mitigation in the province of Guadalajara
  • Preventive measures: sheepfold repair, portable fences combined with electric fences
  • Experience of cattle and sheep farmers with mastiffs
  • Practical experience: installing a portable fence with an electric fence.
