The National Rural Network (RRN), in conjunction with the European Evaluation Helpdesk for Rural Development, organized the training workshop "Evaluation of Participatory Local Development Strategies (PLDS)," which took place at the facilities of the Directorate General for Rural Development, Innovation and Forestry Policy, located on Gran Vía de San Francisco in Madrid.

The training workshop was specifically aimed at Local Action Groups, to support them in evaluating their Local Development Strategies by providing them with examples and practical evaluation cases.

The specific objectives of this workshop were:

• Improve the knowledge of evaluation and monitoring of Local Development Strategies of the technical teams of the Local Action Groups
• Provide Local Action Groups with practical cases and examples of useful methodologies and tools for the evaluation of Local Development Strategies
