THURSDAY, MAY 23

MORNING session / 10:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Location: Kuartango Lab, in Zuhatzu Kuartango (Álava).

10:00 - 10:30 a.m. - Start of the day. Opening Ceremony and Institutional Welcome.

10:40 - 11:10 a.m. - Presentation of the 'Soil Water' project:

  • Conversation between Raúl Contreras, a social entrepreneur with the Ashoka Network and founder of Nittúa and the "Soil Water" project, and Ivan del Caz , Director of Rural Citizen.

11:20 - 12:20 - Inspiring presentation with:

  • Martha Isabel (Pati) Ruiz Corzo - Environmental activist, winner of the Champions of the Earth Prize (Nobel Prize in Ecology), Wangari Maathai Prize, 2012 National Geographic Award, and Rolex Awards for Enterprise.

12:20 - 12:40 - Break · Coffee & Break.

12:40 to 13:45 - Discussion session 'Soil Care':

  • Regenerative Agriculture: David González - Co-founder and coordinator at Sustraiak Habitat Design Koop .
  • Charles Castro Lampón - Director - Evaluation and Measurement of Social Impact of Ecodes .
  • Jaime Uria, Researcher at NEIKER - Basque Institute for Agricultural Research and Development.
  • Jose Luis Mañez Martinez, representative of the PAC Network .

1:45 to 2:00 PM - Presentation of the challenges to be solved and closing of tomorrow's session.

AFTERNOON Session / 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Location: Kuartango Lab.

4:00 PM - 4:30 PM - Reminder of the challenges to be resolved and constitution of the working groups.

4:30 PM - 7:30 PM - Working Tables :

Participatory dynamics of relationship, collaboration and co-creation based on the challenges posed in each of the tables formed:

🔸 SOIL CARE Work Table

Objective: To position soil care as an effective and efficient way to increase water in underground aquifers.

🔸 Working Group on the Water Opening Market

Objective: To establish a market implementation strategy for soil care by choosing an economic sector in which to carry out the first operations with economic returns.

🔸 WATER CERTIFICATION Working Group

Objective: To establish certification competencies for water infiltration, if any, and to assess certification options that do not represent a cost for the person producing that value.

🔸 CO2 CERTIFICATION Working Group

Objective: To achieve an economic return from CO2 capture without the cost of certification preventing SMEs and/or small businesses from participating in the capture market.

🔸 AIR CARE Working Table

Objective: To recognize the need to improve air quality and ensure that the care process provides an economic return.

7:30 PM - 8:00 PM - Conclusions and closing of the day.

FRIDAY, MAY 24

MORNING session / 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Location: Kuartango Lab, in Zuhatzu Kuartango (Álava).

Optional visit to Valle Salado , the oldest salt factory in the world. Travel from Kuartango Lab will be by minibus.

Among springs, wells, and stepped stone and clay terraces, you'll immerse yourself in a unique project that promotes the revitalization and resilience of the region by regenerating the soil and its natural values.
