On October 25 and 26, 2018, nine Local Action Groups from Castilla y León, Madrid, Castilla La Mancha and Extremadura met in Santa María la Real de Nieva (Segovia) as part of the exchange of experiences GAL promoted by the RRN aimed at promoting an Interterritorial Cooperation Project to enhance the value of the Cañada Real Oriental Leonesa.
The National Rural Network's activities include offering training and networking activities for Local Action Groups (LAGs). These activities consist, in particular, of providing technical assistance for inter-territorial cooperation and facilitating cooperation between LAGs and the search for partners for cooperation measures.
Within this framework, a call was launched in July 2018 to select the next two LEADER Experience Exchanges. These exchanges aim to directly connect groups interested in jointly implementing a cooperation project, thus facilitating its implementation and preliminary organization.
Within the framework of this call, the Intermunicipal Association for the Development of the Santa María la Real de Nieva Region (AIDESCOM) presented a proposal to organize an Interterritorial Cooperation Project to Enhance the Cañada Real Oriental Leonesa, along with the rest of the GAL through which the aforementioned Livestock Route runs.
In addition to the technical teams from the Local Action Groups involved, experts and authorities with jurisdiction over livestock trails were invited to attend the meeting so that their advice and opinions could be incorporated into the project from the outset of project formulation.
Below are the presentations given during the conference.
