The General Directorate of Rural Development, Innovation, and Forestry Policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food promotes the continuing education program for technicians from national and international rural development institutions as a means to achieve its objectives, considering training to be the main instrument of change.
As part of the 2018 training program, which includes training activities, the Subdirectorate General for Rural Development is coordinating this course, which has the following objectives:
- Promote the development of sustainable tourism in rural areas, which will help establish a population and enhance rural resources.
- Promote the development of nature tourism.
- Support entrepreneurs who want to carry out this activity.
The course, which is in person, is aimed at:
- Technicians who work in rural areas, advising entrepreneurs in the tourism sector and those seeking to improve operations.
The following aspects will be addressed in this paper:
- Experience-based tourism as a source of rural diversification.
- Design of ecotourism products and experiences.
- Examples of good practices.
