The Economic and Social Council of Spain is holding a conference entitled " The Rural Environment and its Social and Territorial Structure ," which will take place on Wednesday, September 12, at the Council's headquarters, C/ Huertas, 73 - Madrid.
Currently, the global economic and social situation makes it essential to strengthen public and private measures to guarantee the well-being of the rural population in Spain. Only through a comprehensive perspective of modernization, planning, and integrated development actions that promote economic growth, employment, the adaptation and improvement of agricultural structures and rural infrastructure, educational and training plans, and social and health services, among others, will it be possible to achieve the population settlement, especially of young people and women, that rural Spain needs.
This Conference presents the Report of the Spanish ESC on this topic, prepared with the aim of formulating proposals aimed at increasing the standard and quality of life in rural Spain, understanding that this contributes effectively to improving the social and territorial structure of our country, addressing the problems of unemployment, depopulation and over-aging that affect increasingly large regions of the country.
