AMCAE Conference: From the Land to Leadership: Women Cooperativists Changing the Course: “Entrepreneurship and Leadership”.

Within the framework of the grant from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food for carrying out activities of special interest to promote the role of women in rural development, the Association of Women of Agri-food Cooperatives of Spain (AMCAE) will implement a program of actions in which social, economic and technological innovation will take center stage.

This event is part of the recognition, through the UN's declaration of the International Year of the Woman Farmer, of the essential role women play in agriculture and agri-food systems, helping to highlight their contributions and strengthen equal opportunities in the primary sector. In this context, AMCAE is holding its annual event under the theme "From the Land to Leadership: Women Cooperative Leaders Setting the Course," with the aim of emphasizing the role of women cooperative members in rural development from an economic, social, and environmental perspective, both as active members of the membership and as representatives on the governing bodies of their cooperatives. The event will also provide an opportunity to learn about the actions that the Local Action Groups on each island are carrying out through the LEADER initiative to promote innovation and sustainable development, as well as to share examples of entrepreneurship and best practices led by women and linked to cooperatives, culminating in a guided tour of the host farm.
