The event is aimed at young people interested in Rural Development Policies and who want to be agents of change in their region within the framework of a long-term vision for rural areas. Its main objective is to introduce young people to the European Commission's Communication: A Long-Term Vision for Rural Areas in the European Union.

In addition, the conference pursues the following specific objectives:

• Report on the development of the long-term vision, the participatory process, and facilitate the transfer of results: European Commission communication, foundations of the Rural Pact and the Rural Action Plan.
• Promote youth participation and reflection around the long-term vision and encourage them to be active agents in the Rural Development Policies of their territories.
• Create networks of contacts among young people who are interested in rural areas.
