The forestry measures included in the 2014-2020 RDPs have implications beyond the territorial boundaries of each program. Climate change mitigation, water resources in inter-community basins, biodiversity conservation, forest fire prevention, and even the promotion of forest-based economic activity are issues of national interest.

Therefore, it is necessary to establish forums for the exchange of experiences and opinions to facilitate the implementation of the measures by Management Authorities, measure and territory managers, as well as private beneficiaries; broadening their approaches and learning from other experiences and points of view. It is also intended to promote the consistent implementation at the national level of certain horizontal aspects of the forestry submeasures provided for in the National Rural Development Framework.
