- "Ganadería en Femenino" is born, a Zoetis project in collaboration with the Association of Women of Agri-Food Cooperatives of Spain (AMCAE) and Asturian Livestock Farmers
- The project aims to make the work of women ranchers visible through communication, training and recognition.

The project is based on three basic pillars to achieve the visibility of rural women:
- Training: in the most in-demand areas, both for technical and business management topics.
- Communication: disseminating the sector's work to contribute to greater visibility.
- Recognition: through the creation of the “Zoetis Ganadería en Femenino” Award , which aims to recognize the trajectory and/or activity of innovative projects.
Collaborative project
Zoetis' Corporate Communications Manager, Silvia Húmera, told the National Rural Network that "Livestock in Feminine" is an open and inclusive project that seeks to expand the number of member organizations from different autonomous communities in Spain. We cannot forget the statistics: only 25% of women are head owners of farms." For her part, Jerónima Bonafé, president of the Association of Women of Agri-Food Cooperatives of Spain (AMCAE), affirms that "the main obstacle is women's access to positions of responsibility , both in Professional Agricultural Organizations (OPA) and in cooperatives. This is the challenge we must achieve: for women to access management positions within cooperatives and for the agri-food sector in general, and the livestock sector in particular, to speak in the feminine ."
For Lucía Velasco, president of Ganaderas Asturianas, projects like Ganadería en Femenino "help remove the shame that many women still feel for having spent so many years in the shadows. Recognition like this always motivates women to speak out because it supports the voice of a group that has been silenced until now."
1st Prize
Yaiza Rimada, dairy cattle farmer and founder of La Saregana , a family business located in the municipality of Sariego (Asturias), and dedicated to the production of cow's milk and the manufacture and marketing of yogurts, cheese (cottage cheese and raw milk) and fresh butter, has been named the winner of the 1st edition of the Zoetis Livestock in Women 2020 Award .
In Yaiza's words, "Livestock farming is a tough and complicated activity; it's a way of life that requires 24-hour attention, especially when it comes to animals that require two milkings a day, 365 days a year. I hope that this award, so beautiful and so necessary, will continue to recognize the work of women in livestock farming for many more years to come."
