Dinamización rural

June 29, 2020. On Tuesday, June 9, the first edition of the online Rural Entrepreneurship Course, organized by the National Rural Network and lasting one month, concluded. This workshop, included in the NRN's Action Plan, aims to strengthen the capacities of those who dare to start a sustainable business or activity in rural areas, whether they come from rural or urban areas. Students have had the opportunity to interact with relevant professionals in this academic and professional field, which has helped them structure ideas, delve deeper into the development of their Business Plans, and work on their personal brand.

  • The winners are from the first edition of the Rural Entrepreneurship Course of the RRN
  • The second edition of the course is currently being developed.

The launch of entrepreneurial projects in any sector contributes greatly to the revitalization of the region , serving as a driving force for change and a source of wealth and employment in rural areas. This is what the 40 participants of the Rural Entrepreneurship Course experienced throughout the four modules of the workshop.

Four weeks of online support combined theory and practice, giving students the opportunity to work on their own entrepreneurial projects , listening directly to pioneering entrepreneurs in their sector, and building a shared perspective to reflect on the future of their projects and their territories.

In the final days of the workshop, participants' entrepreneurial projects were shared. After an evaluation process, the course professionals and instructors selected the following candidates as projects of excellence :

Larvae - Álvaro Benito and Irene Pacho

The objective of their entrepreneurial project is to create a farm in Castilla y León dedicated to the production of various insect species , especially Tenebrio molitor or mealworm, for use - both live and in different preparations and their by-products - in human and animal food (livestock and aquaculture), as well as in the production of chitin, organic fertilizer and products for soil improvement. In this way, and following the steps of the circular economy, the project would produce high-quality feed for aquaculture, poultry, exotic animals and recovery centers, with the additional production of a 100% organic anti-pest fertilizer, of natural origin due to its chitin content.

Tree Home - Ana Belén Perona

"Hogar Árbol" aims to combine activities such as rural co-living and co-working with participatory workshops on musical instrument making and creativity development, along with other community outreach activities in the area. It is designed to attract both young people and families to rural areas, creating a space for collective learning and the exchange of ideas. It aims to be a driving force for the Valle and Tierras Altas regions in the province of Soria.

I Want People - Carolina Illán

"Quiero Pueblo" seeks to bring rural well-being to the homes of people suffering from stress in the big city. To this end, they aim to become distributors of emotional well-being packs featuring rural products such as artisanal soaps made with olive oil, hand-embroidered towels, and cards designed with preserved flowers, among others. With this initiative, they hope to increase sales of rural products by raising awareness of the benefits of the good rural life. Their future location, Navahermosa, is a town in the Montes de Toledo region of Castilla-La Mancha.

Camping Playa do Rostro - Catiana Diaz

The project's objective is to launch a campsite so that people visiting the Costa da Morte (Galicia) using a caravan have a safe place to spend a few days enjoying the area. The project aims to offer a relaxing stay in a unique setting, combining sunsets, the beach, and nature all in one.

My town excites - Laura Tejedor

"My town excites" aims to be located in Nájera, La Rioja. It's a unique leisure initiative consisting of workshops focused on developing emotional intelligence , drawing on the surroundings, traditions, and local history of the municipality where they are held, thus creating a sustainable leisure space and a place for knowledge exchange.

More information about these projects will be published in the coming weeks through the National Rural Network's social media channels and monthly newsletter. The winning projects from the second edition of the course, currently underway, will also be announced and disseminated through the National Rural Network's various communication channels.
