03/10/2019 - The DATAGRI forum, an international meeting on digital transformation and data management in the agri-food chain, will once again be held in Spain. It will take place in Zaragoza on November 14 and 15.

Following the great reception of the 2018 edition in Córdoba, DATAGRI, the most important international event on digitalization in the agri-food and forestry sector in Spain, is being held this year in Zaragoza.

It is being held with the hope of surpassing the attendance figures set by last year's edition, which brought together around 1,500 industry professionals from both private and public entities, representative organizations, and civil society.

On November 14th, the meeting will take the form of a congress or " #ForumDay ," where the views of more than 20 international experts can be compared and the details of several global success stories related to the digitalization of the agri-food value chain can be learned. On November 15th, " #FarminDay " will take place, a field demonstration event where attendees can discover the most innovative solutions related to artificial intelligence, big data, IoT (Internet of Things), sensorization, satellite connections, etc., applied to decision-making in the agri-food sector.

For the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, this event is key to moving toward the full digital transformation of the agri-food and forestry sector , as intended by the Digitalization Strategy for the Agri-Food, Forestry, and Rural Environment , submitted to the Council of Ministers in the spring of this year. Its ultimate goal is to drive digital transformation to create attractive living and working conditions in rural areas , contributing to active and stable population growth and the leadership of a competitive, sustainable, and wealth-generating agri-food sector.

The implementation of the aforementioned Strategy will be carried out through biennial Action Plans that will provide executive and budgetary detail to the digital challenge facing our sectors. DATAGRI 2019 is one of the actions planned in the 2019-2020 Action Plan.
