18.11.2022 . The European H2020 FAIRshare project , in which the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food participates , aims to ensure that agricultural advisors and their organizations implement and use digital advisory tools and services to support more productive and sustainable agriculture through actions supporting innovation and the acquisition of digital skills.
The project, which began in 2018 and is scheduled to last six years, is bridging the digital divide through specific initiatives, specifically targeting agricultural and forestry advisors .
Project actions
Among the most important milestones achieved so far within the project are:
- The development of an open-access inventory of digital tools and services ( DATS ) that allows users to share their own tools. Spain is one of the countries with the most published DATS .
- Training courses for farmers, ranchers, foresters, and advisors facilitate a gradual transition for rural professionals toward digital and more sustainable agriculture. The courses cover a wide range of topics: planning, soil qualification, pest simulation, and more.
- Within the project, partners and participants share their best practices in using or developing DATS. To facilitate their understanding and make them more dynamic, short videos have been created, available at the following link .
- User Cases ( UC ) aim to address certain common challenges that a group of agricultural/forestry advisors may face using digital tools and services.
- Cross-visits (CVs) have been developed within the project . These aim to share experiences and lessons learned among project partners regarding the implementation or incorporation of digital tools or DATS.
