The deadline to apply for Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) aid for 2026 is April 30. Some 585,000 farmers and livestock breeders can submit the single application—for direct aid, as well as aid based on area and animals under the rural development programs of the autonomous communities—which this year will have a budget of €4.897 billion, €8 million more than in the previous year.
Once the deadline has passed, applicants can submit an amendment to their application—between May 1 and 31—to indicate any changes to their planting plan. Furthermore, if any errors are detected, farmers and livestock breeders can correct their applications without penalty until August 31.
The single application must be submitted in the autonomous community where the farm or the majority of its land is located. If there is no land available, it must be submitted in the autonomous community where the largest number of animals are located.
APPLICATIONS FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS, NATIONAL RESERVE AND TRANSFER OF RIGHTS
The application period for payments under the regional rural development programs has also opened: area-based and livestock aid. In some regions, the single application also includes applications for interventions to support young and new farmers, as well as the start-up of new rural businesses.
You can also submit notifications of the transfer of Basic Income Support entitlements and applications for entitlements to the National Basic Income Support Reserve. The Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA) has added a new link to its website for this purpose .
All applicants must submit a "graphic declaration" of the farm's agricultural parcels, in accordance with the Geographic Information System for Agricultural Parcel Identification (SIGPAC). To facilitate the completion of the single application, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food provides applicants with the necessary information through this link .
The Ministry also maintains the Aid Management System (SGA ) available to the autonomous communities, a software tool that allows for the completion and processing of single applications. Currently, Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, the Balearic Islands, Cantabria, Castile-La Mancha, Extremadura, Galicia, Madrid, Murcia, Navarre, the Basque Country, La Rioja, and the Valencian Community are using this system. The remaining communities have developed their own software systems for this purpose.
